Sadly,
I had to have her put down aged 13. She died peacefully with me stroking
her tummy. Please
enjoy Badger's pigtures and story.
Here
we have Badger, who had to be given away at one
Badger wearing her rug so that she doesn't get cold. Badger after one year. Doesn't she look great! I had 2 pigs like Badger. They lived happily together for 7 years, they were my lifeline while going through a traumatic divorce. I took them for a walk every day, rain or sunshine, they looked great and fit. Suddenly they had a terrible fight and had to be separated, I lived in continual fear that they would break out and kill each other. I had to find a home for one of them. The choice had to be the nicest and kindest one as the one I kept was rather grumpy with strangers. Badger went to people with a hotel and 20 acres. They swore she would never leave their place and that they would inform me of any trouble. They did not. It was a nightmare, I was so sad. In the meantime 2 years went by, I sadly had to put down the pig I kept, which enabled me to have Badger back. Shock, horror, it took me several weeks to track her down to a cider farm with kind enough people who were rather ignorant about pig keeping. Badger was grossly fat, raw places all over in the folds of skin and hardly able to walk with the pain of arthritis. Feet very long, drafty house, no bedding, her water was slimy green. She was about to be put down. To cut a long story short: In spite of Foot and Mouth I got all the necessary paperwork done and she is back home. She has not forgotten a thing. Done her feet, just like you say! She is now on a high dose of anti inflammatory drugs for her pain and I am slimming her down. I hope she will be with me for a while longer. My fear is that the high dose will cause side effects. It was so touching to see how happy she was when she found a deep bed of straw in her house. She is much loved. Paula
