Jury
Finds Pig Owner In Violation Of Ordinance Star
Telegram Babe, Wilbur and Porky may have lost a friend. At least in Hurst. A Municipal Court jury found Eli the Vietnamese potbellied pig's owner Cynthia Wynne, guilty Tuesday of violating a city animal control ordinance. Wynne, whose fines could have exceeded $2,000 for two citations she received in July, was fined $250 for each violation, plus court costs, by the jury. Her attorney, Lorin M. Subar of Dallas, has 10 days to file an appeal, which would send the case to the Tarrant County court system. Cynthia Wynne's husband, Tim, conceded that ehy had violated the ordinance. "But there are some things you have to fight for," he said. The ruling could end Wynne's yearlong effort to keep the 175-pound pig. Wynne had not decided whether to appeal.
