SEARCH
TIPS: -
Here are some tips for using our search engine, and many of the major
search engines.
- Spelling:
Very important. If it's spelled wrong, it will not be found.
- Avoid
Certain Words: If your search contains words like "and",
"of", "the", "or", "pig", "potbellied",
etc. you could get hundreds of results from pages that contain these
words. Avoid using them unless you use the "Match: Exact Phrase"
option (see below)
- Less
Is Better: The more words you use, the more results you will get.
Sometimes this is not good. Try starting with just one or two words,
using one of the options below.
SEARCH
ENGINE OPTIONS:
What the various search options to the left mean.
- Search
For: Put your search term(s) here.
- Match:
Any Word - Results will show all pages that contain ANY of
the words you used..
Match: All Words - Results will show only pages that contain
ALL the terms you used.
Match: Exact Phrase - Results will show only those pages that
contain the EXACT PHRASE you used.
Sound-alike Matching: Good for misspellings. Results will show
pages with words that are similar to your terms. For instance, behavier
(misspelled) will also show pages with behavior.
- Dated:
Looks for results in pages updated within a certain time period. We
suggest using "Anytime"
- Within:
Searches within the specified area of the web site or pages. Default
is "Anywhere" (entire site).
- Show:
How many results will be shown per page, with page summaries or without
page summaries.
- Sort
By: Will sort your results by score or date. Score is the
default and best to use. A higher score usually means that page is more
relevant to your search term or phrase
